Round-the-Clock Pregnancy Care

Having your own doctor close to home is important when you’re pregnant and need regular prenatal care. Dr. Edward Ofori provides exceptional obstetric care from conception through delivery, right here in Mesquite.

Dr. Ofori and our entire staff will treat you like family, working to keep you and your baby healthy throughout your pregnancy and ensure the most positive delivery experience possible for you and your other family members.

Being pregnant is both an exciting and stressful time for most women. Everyone at the Mesquite Women’s Clinic understands and respects your concerns. We are always available to answer your questions, help you cope with the physical and emotional changes you’ll experience and provide all the information you need to take the best care of yourself and your unborn baby. As you get closer to your delivery date, we’ll also work with you to determine the childbirth approach that is right for you—from natural to the latest pain relief methods.

In-office 3D ultrasound testing

We have invested in advanced 3D ultrasound technology for fetal monitoring in order to give mothers-to-be the reassurance that their pregnancies are progressing normally. Obstetrical ultrasound is safe and noninvasive and may be performed several times throughout your pregnancy to help us determine the position of a fetus and diagnose any potential abnormalities. You will be able to view your baby on a computer monitor during the test.

Our highly trained and experienced sonographer, Barbara, has been with the practice since 2004 and has the expertise to provide all the critical information we need to evaluate fetal health.

Deliveries at Mesa View Regional Hospital

We are very happy to provide labor and delivery care at Mesa View Regional Hospital right here in Mesquite, both for vaginal deliveries and C-Sections. It’s not only comforting to know it’s close by, but also convenient for family members who may want to visit as soon as the baby is born.

Dr. Ofori is the Vice Chief of the Department of Surgery at Mesa View Regional Hospital, ensuring you get the same family-centered care and leading-edge treatment at the hospital that you enjoy in our practice.

High-risk pregnancy management

There are many different reasons why a pregnancy is considered high risk. The most common is advanced maternal age (over 35). Multiple births present a higher risk, as do some health concerns, such as diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune disorder and thyroid or infectious disease.  If you had a previous problem with a pregnancy, that would put you at risk, as well.

We can monitor and care for the most common risks; but we have established close working relationships with perinatologists (maternal fetal medicine specialists) in St. George and Las Vegas and will add them to your medical team, if needed. You can trust us to make sure you and your family get all the care and support you need to give you the best chance of a healthy delivery.

Infertility consultation, testing and treatment

If you have been trying to become pregnant for over a year and are having no success, we provide comprehensive counseling and medical assessments for both you and your partner. Because at least 50% of infertility problems are due to male factors, it is important that both of you are tested.

We will look at lifestyle, emotional and medical factors that may affect fertility. Infertility can be caused by ovulation disorders, blocked fallopian tubes, uterine fibroids or a low sperm count. It can also be the result of age, stress or alcohol or drug use. Based on our findings, we will work with you to help you decide the treatment option that is best for you.
